FH13 – Stainless Steel Horizontal Float Switch
This stainless steel horizontal liquid level detector is corrosion resistance, the functional maximum temperature of 120°C. This horizontal float switch has a maximum pressure rating of up to 125 PSIG making it a reliable choice for high-stress applications. Our FH13 line of stainless steel float switches is made from durable 304-series steel with ½” NPT side mounting and 12″ 22 AWG lead wires.
The switch is mounted at a specified level, over or under which the sensor should be activated or deactivated. The float is attached to the side mount on a sort of a hinge that lets it hang in the open air with the electrical circuit open; when the water rises high enough, the float goes with it, eventually closing the circuit or vice versa. Side-mounted float switches are mounted through a hermetically sealed hole on the side of a tank. When the level of the tank’s liquid rises or falls past the level of the float, the float will rise and fall with it, activating the switch. Wires then send an electric signal to the outside of the tank through the watertight seal, making these components essential for accurate monitoring or regulation of fluid levels in many contexts.
Like side-mounted switches, 90-degree mount float switches are mounted through the side of a tank. However, they function as vertically mounted switches, with a doughnut-shaped float rising and falling with the level of the liquid around stems, actuating reed switches inside the stems.
Because the horizontal float switches can be standard or highly customized it can be used in almost endless applications across all markets.
